In 2005, TRA Music expanded to southern Taiwan with the Megaport Festival, a major music event that was meant to mirror Taipei's Formoz Festival in Kaohsiung City. Megaport lasted for a few years and had the support of Kaohsiung bands like Fire Ex, Orange Doll, Maho and Shy Kicks Apple but also featured many bands from around the island. Some well-known foreign bands to perform at the event have included Japan's instrumental rock group Clione-Index, post-hardcore band Envy and indie rockers Yura Yura Teikoku as well as American post-rock unit Saxon Shore and classic indie band Apples In Stereo. Megaport was also held in conjunction with the Kaohsiung Film Festival for a couple years, and the festival itself sparked the filming of a Kaohsiung indie scene film entitled Voices of the South. Unfortunately, TRA temporarily stopped organizing big events like Megaport and Formoz in order to focus on live house concerts.
