Combining visual, digital and electronic arts, the Weather in My Brain festival has offered a yearly platform for Taiwan's electronic music artists since 2003. While the event focuses more on the visual aspects of Taiwan's arts scene and features talent from the avant garde internationally, several of Taiwan's indie electronica artists have appeared amidst the sound and vision. Groups like surreal electro-unit Varo, the downtempo Nylas and sound sculptors KbN performed at the 2005 Weather in My Brain and even got a mention in a report in the acclaimed British music magazine The Wire. Some of the most interesting music coming from Taiwan is created with laptops and Weather in My Brain couples these sounds with cunningly mesmerizing visual art. The venue has changed since its beginning but recent events have taken place at in the spacious warehouses of the Huashan Culture Center.
