RIVERSIDE LIVE HOUSE

The Riverside Live House opened in 2007 as the second addition to the Riverside family established by music venue pioneer Geddy Lin. Located at the Red House Theatre in Taipei's bustling youth district Ximending, the Riverside live house attracts more attention to itself as well as the fact that Taiwan has a vibrant live music scene. Many of the smaller rock clubs and music venues are found nestled down side streets and in basements of the university quarter between Gonguan and Shida. Elevating the underground to the streets of central Taipei, The Riverside Live House tends to feature more of the mainstream and the popular artists to arise from the indie scene. Legendary rocker Wu Bai has made several appearances as well as indie sensations including Tizzy Bac, 1976 and Ciacia. However, the venue is not genre specific and also has jazz and acoustic events regularly offering a classy alternative to the usual rock experience.
