As Taipei and other big cities began to modernize, more and more night spots and discotheques featuring nightly DJ talent began to appear satisfying a need for young people to get their groove on. Before the current era of mega clubs, many raves were held, often illegally, as underground parties. As smaller venues like Roxy Vibe and Spin opened, more turntablists got a chance to experiment with underground electronica and indie forms which attracted more denizens of the Taiwan indie scene. By the mid 2000's, multiple room super clubs like LUXY and M.O.S., which feature hip hop, house, trance, drum n bass and other dance music styles, have become the popular places to shake it to top local and international talent.
