Largely emulating the taike sound, a native Taiwan rock stlye that emerged in the 90's, as well as drawing on the more typical American pop punk influences shared by other Taiwan bands, Children Sucker are an unlikely binglan flavored blend of Taiwanese oldies, rustic attitude and punk rock appeal following in the footsteps of the legendary absurdist anti-politcal band LTK Commune. Despite their playfully vulgar name and blatant disdain for trends, the group has risen to near mainstream popularity. The band's first EP entitled Come On, Get up Kids! was put out by Gamaa Music, and was followed up in 2007 with a second mini-album.
In the early days, the band was named Asshole and was known for getting shooed from the stage at Spring Scream because they didn't know what time to play. After forming Children Sucker, they became known for the wild antics and bizarre motions of their often drunk singer French Fry. Rising from shabby live house shows to being major attractions at festivals like Spring Scream and Ho-Hai-Yan where they participated in the 2005 battle of the bands competition and come out on top winning that year's Indie Awards. Children Sucker's audience is now packed with the usual punks and rockers from the local crowd, and they are a sight from the Taiwan indie scene not to be missed.
